Getting the most from your money
These computers have been designed to allow you to play the top title games at 60+ FPS @ 1080P Resolution without breaking the bank. The combinations which are available are constantly taking value for money into consideration. To achieve the best gameplay results we would recommend not choosing the latest generation of hardware. This is because the lower-end current-generation hardware never offers the best performance at each price point in comparison to one of the higher-end components from a previous generation.
The processor of a computer is a bit like the engine in a car or the brain in the human body. It's essential. Without it, the computer wouldn't work, and the better it is, the better the PC is overall. There is a steep curve when it comes to pricing, so deciding on which processor to buy can be difficult. Thankfully, this is made more straightforward by the processor's (performance) benchmark score. Benchmark scores are essentially a simplified method of finding out how good a processor is. The higher the score, the better the computer will perform in tasks that are very CPU intensive. There is a lot more to be taken into consideration than just the benchmark score of the processor. However, this is a good indication of how the overall PC will perform.
The motherboards we select for our gaming machines offer the best price for performance across the range. We do not believe in putting lavish motherboards into our lower end builds. This is because the performance benefits of these motherboards over standard motherboards for gaming is fairly small. However in comparison, if you take that extra money that you would have spent on the lavish motherboard and allocate it elsewhere like upgrading the processor, graphics card or SSD you will see a much greater improvement in gaming performance.
With all that being if for some other reason you would like or need one of the top end motherboards in your system please make sure you contact us and we will be happy to fulfil your request simply adding on any additional costs to the final retail price.
RAM, or Random Access Memory, is the memory used by applications and tasks that are currently running. The more RAM you have, the more applications or tasks you can run simultaneously. It seems to be a common misconception that a lot of RAM is required. However, your system only uses what it needs and leftover ram is left unutilised. This is why it is best that you only install slightly more ram than you can foresee being required for your systems particular purpose, as extra RAM over and above what the system requires will never be utilised, therefore being a waste of money.
This is the component which will render the graphics for the computer. In terms of applications which are GPU intensive like games, there are many things to take into consideration to make sure that you pick the right GPU for your computer. Again one way of simply comparing one cards performance to another is their benchmark score. We have this listed beside each of the options that you will select when choosing your graphics card. The higher the score of the card the better (more FPS at higher settings) the game will perform. If you would like to know how well your favourite games play with a particular card a simple google search will give you a very accurate idea, simply searching the name of the game followed by the model of the graphics card will show results similar to what you are likely to achieve.
The overall speed of your PC is greatly affected by your choice of storage. As such, great consideration should be taken when choosing a storage option for your PC. This will greatly affect your user experience, as all applications and files are stored on the drive. This means that every file opened or saved and every application used is being written to or read from the hard drive. The faster your drive is, the faster you can view your files or open and run your applications.
Hard Drives
Hard disk drives have been the industry standard for years. Over time, the storage capacities and speeds have increased. At the minute, the read/write speed of a standard mechanical desktop hard drive is on average 110MB/s. Compared to solid state drives, they offer larger storage capacities at cheaper prices.
Solid State Drives
Solid state drives are, in a lot of ways, an improvement on Hard disk drives. They're smaller, faster and more shock resistant. However, the trade off for this is that they are considerably more expensive. They can be five times faster with average read/write speed of a SATA SSD is in the region of 500-550MB/s.
An approximation of what your drive is capable of storing:
Whenever building a gaming computer it is vital to make sure that the components receive enough quality power so that they carry out their tasks to their maximum potential. If the power supply is inadequate then it is likely this will cause system instability and it is most likely that the system will crash when its performance peaks. With that being said it is not sensible to waste money by putting huge power supplies in systems which will never need them. when we build all of our machines we make sure that we strike the balance between what the machine needs now and what it may need in the future to allow some upgradeability without wasting money which could improve overall performance elsewhere.
With all are power supplies we try to offer Bronze Certifications meaning that these PSUs provide a consistent 80% efficiency at 20%, 50%, and 100%. This means if the system is gradually put under load, a bronze-rated power supply will always stay at 80% efficiency generate less heat and waste less power.
Typically in most of the systems what we build we use a 600w Bronze Certified PSU, but this may change in low-end budget builds or top end builds which require much more or less power.
Whenever possible, we will use the case pictured above. If we cannot source this case, we will use a case which is as closely matched as possible. If the case is to be changed, this will not affect any of the specifications listed above. However, the casing may look slightly different.
We use many different motherboards and case combinations when building our computers so the connectivity is going to vary from build to build however the list below will give you what you would expect from a standard computer from us.
Windows 10, Office Package And Antivirus along will all other software that we deem essential to get you up and running quickly and easily.
All of our computers come with ethernet built in as standard. However, customers are also given a choice of adding a Wifi Card to allow for Wifi connectivity, with an additional charge. Please select this from the drop down menu if required.
1 Year Parts and Labour Direct with us. If for any reason there is a problem with the computer it is the responsibility of the customer to return the computer to ourselves for repair.
All Desktop PCs will be built to order and are usually available to collect from our shop within 3-5 Working Days from the order being placed. If, however, you wish for the item to be delivered, please allow the additional time specified in the delivery section.
